Subject file · Beyond the Signal

Beyond the Signal is written from Queensland, Australia, where the nights are wide enough to hear things in. She writes fiction and poetry about the places where the ordinary world wears thin: the empty highway after midnight, the lighthouse no one remembers building, the voice on the radio that knows your name.

Her stories move between science fiction, fantasy, mystery, the supernatural and the paranormal, but they all begin the same way, with a signal she can't quite explain and a stubborn need to write it down before it fades.

She keeps a logbook instead of a diary. She believes every house has a frequency. She is still listening.

Signal philosophy

Why write from the edge

  1. 01

Every story is a message from somewhere else. My job is to keep the line open long enough to hear it.

  2. 02

Silence is not empty. It is full of things waiting for the right listener.

  3. 03

The strange should arrive quietly, the way frost arrives: overnight, and all at once.
